After 30 years in the music business in Nashville, I was ready for a change.

I had been a successful touring musician, an artist, a session singer, a jingle writer and producer, a songwriter, a record producer, a label and publishing company owner, a studio owner, an engineer, a mixer, a programmer, a board member, and even a music director for a large tour.

There was very little I hadn’t done in the music business.  I received multiple Grammies, Doves, and ASCAP awards over the years for my work.

I had the fortune to work with some of the top artists and musicians in the business. I also made a lot of money in the process, BUT, when the new millenium brought a major downturn in the music industry, I found myself in a sort of creative depression. Something was pulling me away from all I knew and middle age was confronting me with a lot of questions. I was dying inside and my wife and I decided to embark on a new adventure. We took a great risk and moved to the Twin Cities.  For the first two years I was basicially starting over.

I forged new relationships and found a beautiful culture of great musicians and artists, yet without the constraints of the industry.

I met Jordan soon after we arrived in Minnesota and we met occasionally over the next two years to talk about what was put on our hearts with regards to artists and music. We finished each others’ sentences and found that we shared a lot of similar vision. Our hearts were always about helping artists and somehow removing some of the chains of the industry. The connection finally made sense when Jordan asked if he could commission me to do what was on my heart…and his. In March of 2016, I began working fulltime at his beautiful studio in Hudson, Wisconsin.  I also work at my own studio in Minneapolis when I can.

We have had the time of our lives exploring new ways of thinking about everything pertaining to music and artists.

We don’t have all the answers, but we have hope, vision and more enthusiasm than we’ve ever had. We’re looking forward to realizing our dreams through our artists at Hover Records. Wish us well and know that we can’t do this alone!
